Truly Quintessential Park City Events
Vacationing in Park City is like nowhere else in the world. Not only do we have stunning mountain backdrops, outdoor activities galore, and world-class cuisine, we also have myriad events that showcase our small-town spirit. If you are new to the area, these four events taking place in September and October are a must for any visitor:
1. Miner’s Day Park City—September 6, 2021
Ever heard of Miner’s Day? You might know it under a different name: Labor Day. Here in Park City, we celebrate the national holiday a little bit differently. Every year we pay tribute to our mining heritage with a wealth of historical and outrageously exciting events, all taking place on September 6, 2021.
Start with a pancake breakfast at City Park, participate in the Miner’s Day 5k, and take in our historical Main St. parade. However, for the ultimate Park City Miner’s Day experience, check out the Running of the Balls. A local tradition, people from all over come to release hundreds of golf balls at the top of Main Street and watch them race down the hill.

2. Stay and Play Pickleball Camp—September 16-18, 2021
For a family-centric vacation packed with plenty of outdoor time and luxury lodging, reserve a spot at Park City’s Pickle Ball Camp and Retreat at Snow Flower Condo Complex. Participants receive 12 hours of professional instruction from Engage Pickleball Academy & Camps, as well as premier lodging at one of Snow Flower’s top condos.
Snow Flower Vacation Rentals for an Extended Park City Stay:
3. Autumn Aloft Hot Air Balloon Festival—September 18-19, 2021
There is something magical and serene about vibrant hot air balloons gliding effortlessly across a blue, high-desert sky. As far as balloon festivals go, Park City’s Autumn Aloft is one of the best in the country. Partakers come from all over to watch colorful balloons take flight. With two main launch days—September 18 and 19—and a candlelight glow, there are ample opportunities to glimpse these majestic crafts soar.
Exquisite Property with Alpine Views and Serene Setting:
4. Shot Ski—October 9, 2021
If you are unfamiliar with the shot ski concept, you are in for a wild time. Shot skiing involves placing shot glasses on a ski and knocking them back. In Park City, we like to up the stakes on this classic drinking game. Once a year, we line our streets with people all taking a shot together from skis of record-breaking length. We don’t use just any liquor, either. Our glasses are filled with high-end artisan whiskey from our very own High West Distillery, so you can feel sophisticated while drinking from a ski. We also won the world title in 2019 for having an astounding 1,310 participants. (We’ve also developed a friendly rivalry with Breckenridge, so we are looking forward to 2021 being another record-breaking year).
