Park City’s Autumn Aloft

Come enjoy “Autumn Aloft”, a colorful and whimsical launch festival of hot air balloons, amid a canvas of fall trees dotting Park City’s mountainsides. You’ll have the opportunity to get close to the balloons, so plan on snapping some amazing photos or chatting with the pilots about this unique activity. Local resident Gene Moser, along with a group of hot air balloon pilots, first conceived of this event 30 years ago, and Saturday’s launch will be dedicated to his memory. The event takes place September 18 – 20 at multiple launch locations. Fill in the weekend between launch events with our favorite fall activities. Here’s a sample itinerary to make the most of this upcoming autumn weekend:

Friday, Sept 18:

8:00 pm – Newpark Glow at Newpark Town Center – A Baloon Glow will light up the outdoor amphitheater to kick off Autumn Aloft

8:00 pm – Check out “Famous & Infamous” at the Egyptian Theatre (link: https://www.egyptiantheatrecompany.org/)

 

Saturday, Sept 19:

8:00 am – Autumn Aloft launch at North 40  Fields at Park City High School, 1750 Kearns Blvd.

10:00 am – Hike or bike one of our amazing trails, featuring a colorful fall palette of foliage (link www.mountaintrails.org)

1:00 pm – Climb a wetland-themed climbing wall at Swaner EcoCenter, 1258 Center Drive

8:00 pm – Candlestick on Main at historic Main Street between 4th and 5th streets

 

Sunday, Sept 20:

8:00 am – Autumn Aloft launch at North 40 Fields at Park City High School, 1750 Kearns Blvd.

10:00 am – Head to the Park Silly Sunday Market on Main Street for their season finale!

11:00 am – Tour de Suds bike race participants will stream onto Main Street, dressed in costume, and will congregate at Town Lift Plaza
