Previous Content: August 24, 2015: Vail Resorts Management Company gathered together the Park City community to unveil their new branding and reveal the status of on-mountain improvements for the 2015-16 season. Their tag line is “There is only ONE. Park City.” Get stoked with us about visiting the largest mountain resort in America!

Park City Mountain comprises 7,300 acres (2,954 hectares) of skiable terrain with three resort bases, Park City Town, Park City Base Area and Canyons Village. It’s a distinctive feature for a mountain resort to offer lift access at three different locations with very unique attributes. Park City Town base is in the heart of historic Main Street, a bustling activity corridor. Park City Base Area is a neighborhood where lots of locals live, providing a very homey feeling to your visit. Canyons Village has a classic resort feeling, kind of an island unto itself in a bit more rural setting.

More than $50 million USD of improvements are underway to connect the two resorts, formerly known as Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort. The two areas will be linked by Quicksilver Gondola, an eight-passenger express gondola running from the base of Silverlode Lift to the Flatiron Lift. The new gondola will allow skiers and snowboarders to off load on top of Pine Cone Ridge when conditions allow and ski or ride down two new trails to Thaynes Canyon trail. The King Con lift will be upgraded from a 4-person to a 6-person high-speed detachable chair. Switching from a fixed-grip to a 4-person high-speed detachable chair, Motherlode Express Quad will offer increased lift capacity. Chicane Ski Trail will be widened, improving access to Tombstone Express and Quicksilver Gondola.

There are improvements to guest facilities as well. Miner’s Camp replaces the Snow Hut restaurant at the base of Silverlode Lift, which will include 500 indoor seats, a large deck and a state-of-the-art kitchen. Summit House will increase seating capacity and improve traffic flow through the lodge. Red Pine Lodge will increase its capacity by 250 indoor seats.
