5 Must Try Summer Family Activities in Park City

There are two main factors in planning the perfect family vacation: making sure everyone has fun and experiencing something new. Luckily, Park City has hundreds of family friendly activities ranging from outdoor extremes to relaxing cultural events. To make planning your trip easier we put together our 5 must try summer family activities in Park City.

Comet Bobsled Ride at Utah Olympic Park

Relive the 2002 Winter Olympics by riding a modified bobsled that rolls on the track’s concrete surface. Join a professional pilot and race speeds up to 60 mph, all in less than a minute. The bobsled track was used for bobsled, skeleton, and luge events during the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Games. Riders must be 13 years of age or older and at least 100 lbs to ride. Are you ready for your Olympic minute?

Alpine Slide at Park City Mountain Resort

Park City Mountain is home to one of the longest slides in the world. With over 3,000 feet of luge-like track, race friends and family as you glide side by side. With four tracks to choose from you can slide all day long. It’s like your favorite roller coaster but with beautiful mountain scenery. Visitors must be 48” or taller to slide by themselves.

Zip Tour at Park City Mountain’s Canyon Village

Canyon Village offers guests the chance to soar high above valley floors and tree tops. The Red Pine Zip Line is an 800 foot long ride through trees near Red Pine Lodge. The Lookout Zip Line races 2,111 feet from Lookout Peak to Red Pine Lodge. Guided tours typically run for 1 hour to 1.5 hours. Zip tour riders must be 7 years or older and minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Tours run daily from June 18th to September 7th 2015.

Park Silly Market on Main Street

The Park Silly Market is an ecofriendly open air market located on Park City’s Historic Main Street. Held every Sunday from June through September, Park City’s Main Street fills with entertainment, produce and local artists. There’s something new every week, with different vendors, live music, and performance art. Other activities include a farmer’s market and gourmet food. For visitors who love to shop, please plan ahead and bring cash as not all vendors accept credit cards. Dogs are allowed but must remain on a leash at all times.

Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series at Deer Valley Resort

Presented by Mountain Town Music every Wednesday night from June 17 to August 26, Utah’s best local music acts play a FREE show from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Deer Valley Resort’s Snowpark Amphitheater. This year the Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series is highlighting the Strange Band, The Changing Lanes Experience, Slickrock Gypsies and Motherlode Canyon Band. The shows perform rain or shine and guests are welcome to bring picnics, blankets and low-rise chairs less than nine inches high. Animals are not permitted at concerts.
