4 Reasons to Experience a Park City 4th of July

Fourth of July is a great time to visit Park City and with Independence Day taking place on Saturday, you can take the whole weekend to enjoy the festivities! There are many activities for the whole family to participate in from morning until night throughout the city with a variety of entertainment. Bring the family and enjoy these four reasons to experience a Park City 4th of July!

2015 Park City Mountain Run 5K
A Park City tradition, the 2015 Park City Mountain Run is a 5K that usually brings around 1,000 runners to the city for the race. This is a wonderful race and a perfect way to start your holiday. Registration is $20 for kids and $30 for adults when you pre-register. Online registration closes on July 3 at 5 p.m. and prices are $25 and $35 the day of the race. You will receive a race t-shirt when you pre-register and can pick it up the day of the race. All proceeds benefit the Park City Ski Team as they train in hopes of reaching the Olympics.

4th of July Parade
The 4th of July parade is another Park City tradition that is one you won’t want to miss! Beginning at 11 a.m., the parade has of 70 floats that celebrate the history of Park City. Make sure to find a spot on Main Street or Park Avenue as the parade usually draws big crowds. This great event is perfect for the whole family and is always a local favorite.

Deer Valley Music Festival
The Deer Valley Music Festival kicks off on July 4 with the Patriotic Pops with Bravo Broadway at 7:30 p.m. at the Deer Valley Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. Broadway stars Gary Mauer and Elizabeth Southard will perform your patriotic favorites at this great concert. Outside food and drink is permitted so bring a picnic and head out to the amphitheater! Arrive early so you can find a great spot for your picnic. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. so plan ahead! The performance will last two hours with one 20-minute intermission. Children three and under are free in the general admission section. Free parking is available but make sure you bring a jacket as it can get cold on the mountain, even during the summer.

Fireworks
Head to the Park City Mountain Resort as firework will be set off at dusk after a free concert. This is a great way to cap off Independence Day as you get to enjoy world-class fireworks at the fantastic Park City Mountain Resort!

Fourth of July is a great time to head to Park City for all of the great events.
