Planning Your Trip to Deer Valley Ski Resort

Rated best ski resort in the US, Deer Valley Resort offers the perfect mix of breathtaking terrain, stunning vistas, and first-class customer service. No ski trip to Park City is complete without a visit to Deer Valley Resort, so here’s all you’ll need to know as you make your plans.

Where is Deer Valley Resort?

Deer Valley Resort is located just a few miles east of Historic Main Street in Park City. Take Deer Valley Drive from the center of town or hop on one of the free Park City buses that run from downtown, Park City Mountain Resort, Canyons Resort, and many points in between.

If you’re driving, pull up in front of the Snow Park Lodge where Deer Valley Resort’s smiling staff will be happy to help you unload your skis and gear before you park. No schlepping required!

Deer Valley Resort Lift Tickets

It’s important to note that snowboarding is not permitted at Deer Valley Resort, so leave your snowboarding gear at home for this one!

Deer Valley Resort limits the number of lift tickets that it sells each day to ensure that you’ll never encounter crowds on the mountain. During the holiday periods surrounding Christmas, New Years, and Presidents’ Day, the resort frequently reaches capacity.

If you’re going to visit Deer Valley Resort during one of those periods, consider purchasing a lift ticket online ahead of time or simply stop by one of the lift ticket offices to get your pass for the following day.

Top Trails at Deer Valley Resort

Deer Valley Resort is famous for its immaculately groomed terrain, making the resort a paradise for beginner and intermediate skiers, but there are plenty of challenging expert trails for advanced skiers as well!

Start your day on Bald Mountain, served by the Sterling, Wasatch, and Sultan Expresses with cruisers like Keno, Legal Tender, and Nabob. Then head over to Flagstaff Mountain, served by the Quincy and Silver Strike Expresses and tackle fun trails like Hidden Treasure, Hawkeye, and Lost Boulder. As you make your way back to Snow Park Lodge at the end of the day, hop on the Homestake Lift and zoom down Big Stick all the way to the bottom.

Expert skiers will want to explore the terrain off of the Empire and Lady Morgan Expresses, including the always bumpy Solace, Conviction, and Domingo and the beautiful aspen glades of Centennial. Lady Morgan Bowl usually offers some great powder, just don’t go down too far or you’ll have to hike your way out! On a powder day, visit the Mayflower and Sultan lifts on the other side of the mountain for great shredding with no lift lines!

Where to Eat

Beyond its incredible terrain, Deer Valley Resort is known as one of the most posh ski resorts in North America, and that extends to its food! All of Deer Valley’s on-mountain restaurants offer food much better than typical ski resort fare at prices that are still affordable.

Grab lunch at the Silver Lake Restaurant or Royal Street Cafe in the Silver Lake Base Area, or escape the crowds a bit by skiing over to the Empire Canyon Grill. Make sure to try a bowl of the famous Deer Valley turkey chili.

Free Ski Storage at Deer Valley Resort

If you’re going to ski at Deer Valley on consecutive days, take advantage of the complementary overnight ski storage available at Snow Park Lodge and Silver Lake Lodge. For a few dollars, they’ll even throw in a wax.
