Summer Resort Closures

So the countdown begins. In only a few weekends summer will be over and resort closures will be happening in preparation for winter. It’s that strange time of year in Utah when we turn our attention away from warm summer nights to thoughts of catching first chair during a powder filled winter morning. Its crazy to think that we are only 90 days away from the opening of the “new” Park City Mountain. With 50 million dollars being spent in improvements it’s hard not to get excited about the coming ski season. However, with Labor Day just around the corner it’s important to pack in as much of summer as possible before the resorts shut down in preparation for winter.

Like most summers, Deer Valley Resort has been a focal point for summer concerts and mountain biking. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out “The Wave” — Deer Valley Resort’s new flow trail. Full summer operations at Deer Valley Resort are scheduled to reduce to weekends only from September 7th through September 20th.

Each year Park City raises the bar for summer by increasing the amount of live music or activities near its different base areas. Between zip lines, alpines coasters, alpine slides, and mini golf, Park City has made it easy for families to spend time together. The Park City base area closes its summer operation on October 18th and Canyons Village is scheduled to close on September 27th. Don’t pass up this epic experience — check out Park City’s summer activities before it’s too late.

Summer isn’t quite finished and Park City’s resorts still have plenty of activities planned around Labor Day. For more information on Labor Day activities check our “Labor Day Activities” blog post.
