Summer in Park City is synonymous with culture: the lights, the festivals, and the music. One of summer’s biggest draw is the 2016 Deer Valley Music Festival. For 13 years, Park City has been lucky enough to be considered the summer home for the Utah Symphony.

THE B-52S LIVE WITH THE UTAH SYMPHONY

July 9th at 7:30 p.m.

The B-52s hardly need an introduction. Let their chart-topping hits like “Love Shack” keep you dancing all night long.

 

MATTHEW MORRISON WITH THE UTAH SYMPHONY

July 16th at 7:30 p.m.

Watch your favorite Glee performer take the hits from the small screen to the mountains. Song list includes “Luck be a Lady” and “Singing in the Rain.”

 

THE MUSIC OF DAVID BOWIE WITH THE UTAH SYMPHONY

July 23rd at 7:30 p.m.

The Utah Symphony pays tribute to the late and great David Bowie. Take in the sights of Deer Valley Resort while listening to the styling of “Nature Boy.”

 

DREAMWORKS ANIMATION IN CONCERT WITH THE UTAH SYMPHONY

July 29th at 7:30 p.m.

Park City Summer Concert Series

If you happen to look at an events calendar for Park City during the summer months you may notice the overwhelming amount of live music that takes place in our small town. With what seems to be a new concert every night it’s hard to distinguish the different concert series and what music you might expect to hear. With the majority of the concerts taking place at Deer Valley Resort’s Snow Park Amphitheater you can bank on two things: great music and great food. Bring a cooler or picnic basket to almost any concert venue in Park City, relax for a few hours with family and friends and rock like the locals.

Deer Valley Music Festival

The Deer Valley Music Festival is the summer home to the Utah Symphony and Utah Opera. Besides chamber and classical music the Deer Valley Music Festival brings in pop offerings like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Smokey Robinson and Diana Krall. With three venues located at Deer Valley Resort’s Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater, St. Mary’s Church and Temple Har Shalom, performances are matched with stage acoustics to create an epic listening experience for guests. Chamber performances usually take place during weekdays in the intimate settings of St. Mary’s Church and Temple Har Shalom.

This year the Deer Valley Music Festival is celebrating its 11th anniversary and has a star studded line up. For performances at Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater feel free to bring food, wine, blankets and low rise chairs, under 9”, for a picnic style venue. If you want a more catered experience Deer Valley Resort offers a selection of gourmet picnic baskets and bags for purchase. All concerts are held rain or shine. Dogs are not allowed.

Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series

The Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series is presented by Mountain Town Music. This free weekly concert series highlights local acts every Wednesday night at Deer Valley Resort’s Snow Park Amphitheater. Bring your family and friends to listen to great musical acts like the Strange Band, The Changing Lanes Experience, Slickrock Gypsies and Motherlode Canyon Band. Rock out from June 17th to August 26 every Wednesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. Concert attendees are encouraged to utilize the complimentary city-wide bus system. Food and beverages are allowed and gourmet picnic baskets can be ordered through Deer Valley Resort. All gourmet picnic baskets orders must be placed and purchased by 5 p.m. the day prior to the event.

St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series

The St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series is celebrating its 6th season bringing in big name performances like Smash Mouth, Toad the Wet Sprocket and Warren Haynes with Gov’t Mule. Concerts take place at Deer Valley Resort’s Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. All concerts are slated to be held rain or shine. Bring your dancing shoes and enjoy a night under the peaks of Deer Valley Resort.

Thursday Night Concert Series at Newpark

The Free Thursday Night Concert Series features some of Utah’s best local and regional acts every Thursday night at the Newpark Amphitheater from June through August. Bring coolers and enjoy picnics with family and friends, but please do not bring your pets. The Thursday Night Concert Series is sponsored by the Park City Chamber & Visitors Bureau and Zions Bank. Party every Thursday night to musical acts like Bonanza Town, Jelly Bread and Rose’s Pawn Shop. With smaller crowds, attendees receive what feels like a much more intimate experience for an outdoor stage.

Park City Mountain Concerts at Canyons Village

Enjoy the free Summer Concert Series at 6 p.m. on select Saturdays, which features international acts like 10,000 Maniacs, Sam Bush and Blind Boys of Alabama. Picnics and lowback chairs are allowed. Arrive early to snag the best locations on the hill.

Fourth of July is a great time to visit Park City and with Independence Day taking place on Saturday, you can take the whole weekend to enjoy the festivities! There are many activities for the whole family to participate in from morning until night throughout the city with a variety of entertainment. Bring the family and enjoy these four reasons to experience a Park City 4th of July!

2015 Park City Mountain Run 5K
A Park City tradition, the 2015 Park City Mountain Run is a 5K that usually brings around 1,000 runners to the city for the race. This is a wonderful race and a perfect way to start your holiday. Registration is $20 for kids and $30 for adults when you pre-register. Online registration closes on July 3 at 5 p.m. and prices are $25 and $35 the day of the race. You will receive a race t-shirt when you pre-register and can pick it up the day of the race. All proceeds benefit the Park City Ski Team as they train in hopes of reaching the Olympics.

4th of July Parade
The 4th of July parade is another Park City tradition that is one you won’t want to miss! Beginning at 11 a.m., the parade has of 70 floats that celebrate the history of Park City. Make sure to find a spot on Main Street or Park Avenue as the parade usually draws big crowds. This great event is perfect for the whole family and is always a local favorite.

Deer Valley Music Festival
The Deer Valley Music Festival kicks off on July 4 with the Patriotic Pops with Bravo Broadway at 7:30 p.m. at the Deer Valley Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. Broadway stars Gary Mauer and Elizabeth Southard will perform your patriotic favorites at this great concert. Outside food and drink is permitted so bring a picnic and head out to the amphitheater! Arrive early so you can find a great spot for your picnic. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. so plan ahead! The performance will last two hours with one 20-minute intermission. Children three and under are free in the general admission section. Free parking is available but make sure you bring a jacket as it can get cold on the mountain, even during the summer.

Fireworks
Head to the Park City Mountain Resort as firework will be set off at dusk after a free concert. This is a great way to cap off Independence Day as you get to enjoy world-class fireworks at the fantastic Park City Mountain Resort!

Fourth of July is a great time to head to Park City for all of the great events. From the Park City Mountain 5K in the morning, to the 4th of July Parade during the afternoon to the concerts followed by the fireworks, there are several great ways to show your patriotic pride in Park City. 2015 Deer Valley Music Festival

The 2015 Deer Valley Music Festival is shaping up to be another great way to hear live music in Park City! There are several great acts that will be coming through Park City throughout the summer and will make for a great concert series. There are several acts that will be passing through with concerts throughout each week through July and August.

Many of the concerts will take place at the Deer Valley Snow Outdoor Park Amphitheater. Select shows will also be at St. Mary’s Church and Temple Har Shalom. Food and beverages are allowed at the Deer Valley Amphitheater which makes for a great summer setting. Enjoy a picnic while attending a world-class concert.

The concert season will open on July 4 as Patriotic Pops with Bravo Broadway will celebrate Independence Day will all of your favorite patriotic tunes. Broadway stars Gary Mauer and Elizabeth Southard will make for a great July 4th celebration that will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Deer Valley Resort.

On July 6, check out the Mozart & Mendelssohn performance at St. Mary’s Church at 8 p.m. as Rei Hotoda will conduct the Utah Symphony Orchestra through Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12 and Mendelssohn’s Scottish Symphony.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will perform with the Utah Symphony on July 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Deer Valley Resort for one of the headlining concerts of the summer. This will be one performance you won’t want to miss.

Smokey Robinson will perform the following night on July 11 at the Deer Valley Resort with the Utah Symphony Orchestra. Robinson has been a mainstay in American music for years and will bring his signature style to Park City. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The Utah Symphony Orchestra will perform Disney’s Fantasaia on July 17 for a performance that will sure to entertain the whole family. For a throwback, Classical Mystery Tour will perform some of the greatest hits from The Beatles on July 18 at the Deer Valley Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater.

On July 22, head to St. Mary’s Church as the Muir String Quartet will perform pieces including Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 14.

For a Western feel, Country Legends will perform country classics on July 24 at Deer Valley Resort. On the following night, Frank Sinatra, Jr. and the Utah Symphony Orchestra are set to play the hits of Frank Sinatra and will celebrate one of the most legendary entertainers.

Hear the 1812 Overture with live cannon fire on July 31 which is bound to be a summer highlight. Make sure to check out Ozomatli with the Utah Symphony Orchestra on August 1. For film buffs, head to the Hollywood Under the Stars concert on August 7. To close out the summer series, Kristin Chenoweth is scheduled for August 8 while Diana Krall is set to perform on August 14 at the Deer Valley Resort.

Check Out These Park City Concerts This Summer

 

Park City has a lot to offer to offer culturally for everyone. Known for the great venue, Park City has many top national acts passing through to perform along with up-and-coming bands that you won’t want to miss! There are a few different venues to check out including the Deer Valley Music Festival which will host a few major acts this summer including Diana Krall and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Check out these Park City concerts this summer.

The Egyptian Theater on 328 Main Street in Park City is a fantastic venue to check out live music this summer. Used during the Sundance Film Festival, the Egyptian Theater hosts Judy Collins from May 21 – May 24. Collins has been a mainstay in American music since the 1960’s and this is a great glimpse at a great songwriter right in Park City! David Lindley, a 2011 Grammy nominee, is a folk artist and multi-instrumentalist who will perform in two solo concerts at the Egyptian.

On June 26-27, Chris Collins and the Boulder Canyon, a John Denver tribute band will play the Egyptian. In August, Leo Kottke will play the Egyptian on August 7 – August 9 followed by Chubby Checker and the Wildcats from August 12 – August 16.

Park City Live is a top venue in Park City and will host a few concerts this summer. Morgan Page plays the venue on May 15 while the Chainsmokers are scheduled for a May 29 performance. The John Butler Trio has a June 20th concert while Allen Stone will play Park City Live on June 27.

The Deer Valley Music Festival is a series of concerts this summer in Park City that you will not want to miss! Located at the Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater, make sure to bring a picnic and have a seat on the grass at this amazing place to watch a live music performance. Start with Patriotic Pops with Bravo Broadway on July 4 for a patriotic performance on Independence Day.

On July 10, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will play with the Utah Symphony at 7:30 p.m. A multi-platinum band, this is one show that you will want to circle on your calendar. On the next night, Smokey Robinson will perform with the Utah Symphony. One of the most highly-regarded voices in pop music, Robinson’s show will certainly be a highlight.

Other shows at the Deer Valley Music Festival this summer include Disney Fantasia, Classical Mystery Tour, Muir String Quartet, Country Legends, Sinatra Sings Sinatra, Bach & Vivaldi, 1812 Overture, Ozomatli, Diana Krall and many more!
