Soft Wasatch powder, three premier resorts located within a few minutes of each other, hundreds of trails and almost 10,000 acres of skiable terrain. These are the things that make Park City, Utah skiing some of the best in the entire world.

Whether you’re a beginner looking to hit the slopes for the first time or an expert searching for the best untouched powder, there’s something for everyone in Park City. As you plan your stay with Park City Lodging, here’s what you need to know about the three resorts that call Park City home.

Park City Mountain Resort

The variety pack of Park City, Utah skiing, Park City Mountain Resort offers a little bit of everything from easy cruisers to hikeable backcountry terrain. Its trails can be accessed directly from Main Street via the Town Lift, proving a ski-in, ski-out experience for anyone staying downtown, while the resort base located only a few minutes away has a number of ski shops offering rentals and gear.

Beginners can escape the bunny hills on Homerun, one of the longest trails at the resort that runs from the top of the Bonanza Lift all the way to the base area, offering some of the best views in Park City, Utah skiing. The trails off of the Silverlode Lift, one of PCMR’s many six-person chair lifts, offer great intermediate terrain that soaks up the morning sun with nearby King Con Lift offering a number of blues and double blues as well. Experts will want to head to the Jupiter Lift, which offers acres of in-bounds hikeable terrain, or the steep moguls of McConkey’s Bowl.

Built above an abandoned silver mine, old mining buildings and equipment dot the landscape at Park City Mountain Resort. For a greater understanding of the history, take one of the complimentary mountain tours that leave twice daily.

Deer Valley Resort

Deer Valley is a skiers paradise, literally, because no snowboarders are allowed. Known for its first-class service and elegant groomed trails, Deer Valley has earned a reputation as one of the poshest ski areas in the country. Don’t be surprised if you’re offered free cookies in the lift line!

Beginners can head to the Quincy Express which offers a variety of greens, as well some easy blues for the more adventurous. Intermediate skiers can find groomed terrain to fit their interests all over the mountain, especially off the Wasatch Express with long cruisers like Keno and Nabob. Experts can soar through the aspens of Centennial off of the Lady Morgan Express, one of the prettiest glades in all of Park City, Utah skiing, or take the short hike to the top of Ontario Bowl and enjoy the view before shredding some untouched powder.

No trip to Deer Valley is complete without a lunch stop at one of their lodges to try their famous turkey chili or another one of their delicious and sophisticated entrees. Trust us, this will be the best ski resort food you’ve ever had!

Canyons Resort

The biggest resort in all of Park City, Utah skiing, Canyons Resort offers 4,000 acres of skiable terrain. In addition to its quality beginner and intermediate trails, Canyons has some of the best advanced skiing in the area.

Start your day by riding the Red Pine Gondola, the only goldola in Park City, over a beautiful canyon, and ski over to the Tombstone Express to warm up with groomers like Another World or some bumps on Cloud 9. Then escape the crowds by heading to the Dreamscape Lift, with fantastic intermediate trails like Alpenglow and Bliss. Experts will want to take the Ninety-Nine 90 Express to the highest peak in the resort and tear up the moguls of 94 Turns or try the gladed trails to the right of the lift.

With more terrain than any other resort in the state, lift lines are rarity at Canyons Resort. If you find one, ski to the next lift over and chances are you’ll be able to hop right on a chair and be back to the top in no time.
