One Revolution Foundation is a non-profit organization on a mission to “turn the perception of disability upside down.” Founded by Chris Waddell, a 13x Paralympic medalist and the first paraplegic to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, our feature programs include:
Nametags Educational Programs, an assembly program that empowers students to choose the labels, or “Nametags,” they wear. Presenters with disabilities, use their own inspirational life stories to illustrate that “It’s not what happens to you. It’s what you do with what happens to you.” This motto illustrates that while no one is free of struggle, we have the opportunity to choose how we react to our challenges.
Upside Down Grants, a grant program and student film contest designed for individuals with disability (and film makers) to tell their story of “turning the perception of disability upside down” through short film.
1Revolution, the documentary film captures Chris Waddell’s very human journey to dare greatly and ultimately to live fully. This film chronicles the heart and spirit behind an extraordinary achievement as it documents the first almost entirely unassisted paraplegic ascent of 19,340-foot Mt. Kilimanjaro.
