As you plan your Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend ski or snowboard trip, we bring you the good news that Sundance Film Festival has moved a week later in 2015, meaning that you can enjoy your holiday weekend in Park City without having to jostle for rooms, restaurant reservations and parking spaces with all of the film buffs!
This new agreement between Park City and the Sundance Film Festival means that in 2015 and for the next ten years, there will be no overlap between the film festival and the holiday weekend.
MLK Weekend (Jan. 16-19 in 2015) is always one of the most popular times for a quick ski getaway, and things should be even better this year without the crowds of Sundance!
Park City offers three of the best ski resorts in the world in Park City Mountain, Deer Valley and Canyons Resort, meaning that if you come for a three-day weekend, you can ski at a different place every day!
In addition to the first class skiing and snowboarding, downtown Park City has an abundance of shops and great restaurants, a number of which will be offering specials for MLK Weekend.
If you have a few extra vacation days, stay a little longer and enjoy the Sundance Film Festival too! The festival, which kicks off on Jan. 22 and runs through Feb. 1, is one of the largest independent film festivals in the United States and in the past has been the launching point for popular movies like The Blair Witch Project, Little Miss Sunshine and Napoleon Dynamite.
