Deer Valley Resort revolutionized the ski industry by being the first North American resort to provide the first-class service one would find at a five-star hotel and they have never stopped striving to better their guests’ on-mountain experience. Deer Valley offers luxurious amenities such as three beautiful on-mountain day lodges, groomed-to-perfection slopes, powder-laden glade skiing and eleven on-mountain restaurants offering unforgettable award-winning cuisine. The services that have put Deer Valley on the map include ski valets, complimentary day and overnight ski storage and an award-winning ski school. With 2,026 total skiable acres, you are likely to find plenty of untracked snow. Deer Valley limits the number of lift tickets sold daily, and their many high-speed lifts have provided the resort with the designation of having one of the highest uphill capacities in America. Deer Valley Resort proudly hosted the 2002 Olympic Winter Games slalom, aerial and mogul events.
This season, Deer Valley has invested $8.1 million in improvements that will include the replacement of the Homestake chairlift with a new, detachable, high-speed quad chairlift, to be named “Homestake Express.” This will increase the uphill skier capacity by 400 skiers per hour. The Homestake Express chairlift provides skier access from the Silver Lake Village to the top of Bald Eagle Mountain.
Deer Valley will continue to add to its network of downhill mountain bike trails by building its fourth trail in as many years. Construction on an intermediate flow trail began this spring and the trail will feature an 8% grade across three to four miles on Bald Eagle Mountain. It will provide access to more trails by connecting the mid-mountain area to the lower-mountain base area and increase Deer Valley’s summer trail system to over 70 miles across four mountains.
Additional improvements planned for 2018-2019 season at Deer Valley Resort include:
- Snowmaking system enhancements including purchasing additional low-energy guns, five new fan guns, upgrading control systems and replacing several thousand feet of snowmaking pipes
- Purchasing four new Prinoth snowcats, including one Beast to add to the snow grooming fleet
- Replacing the ski rental shop inventory with the newest Rossignol equipment
- Facility and equipment upgrades to resort day lodges, laundry facility, recycling center and IT
