The Summit Land Conservancy is teaming up with Wasatch Brew Pub this summer and fall to hunt out local hops in the Park City area! Come join the Hops Hunters as we hike along the hillsides protected by the Summit Land Conservancy to find wild-growing hop binds, descendants of plants originally brought here by German miners.
Hikes will last about 2 hours and will begin at 9:30 a.m. at various locations. Your hike leader, Heleena Sideris will set up signs for easy navigation about 20 minutes before each hike. To sign up for individual hikes visit http://bit.ly/1mMLTGy. You can also add yourself to the Hops Hunters mailing list for other updates: just go to Summit Land Conservancy’s Facebook page and select “Join our E-mail list!” You will be prompted to select Hops Hunters as an interest. We’ll also be posting Hops Hunter updates, so make sure to check back often!
In addition to our search for wild hops, Heleena will educate you on protected open space and help you identify native and noxious flora.
