Family friendly! Join us to learn more about the geology of the Snyderville Basin as we explore the Swaner Preserve’s north side trails! Genevieve Atwood, Ph.D. is a former three-term state legislator and former State Geologist and Director of the Utah Geological Survery will be leading this walk. She is currently Chief Education Officer of Earth Science Education, a small not-for-profit organization that encourages teachers to go outside and teach what students see. She is also an adjunct professor in the Geography Department at the University of Utah. Mildly strenuous hiking will take place on the walk – please wear appropriate shoes. The tour will begin from the Spring Creek Trailhead on Glenwild Drive; registration is required to attend.
