The Tour des Suds is a 33 year old party on bikes. With prizes for zany costumes, a post-ride barbeque and killer swag giveaways, this race has long been Park City’s celebration of the autumn mountain biking season. A mass start from City Park heads up Main Street then onto single-track for a 7-mile tour up to Guardsman Pass – and that’s where the party begins! After summit celebrations at the Guardsman Pass party station (also the race finish), eventually, riders – or at this point, “partiers” – make way to Town Lift Plaza where festivities continue and awards are handed out. Revelers of all ages are welcome. Kids under 18 ride free. Winning times range between 47 minutes and 2 hours, demonstrating a wide range of ages, ability levels and, most importantly, reasons why people participate in this event – some come to race, most come to have a good time on bikes. Like most Park City traditions, there is nothing serious about this event except the guarantee of having a good time!
