Deer Valley Resort has invested in mountain improvements that benefit both winter and summer season visitors. During the summer, trail enthusiasts were able to enjoy a new flow trail on Bald Mountain, designed by Gravity Logic. Additionally, the Mid-Mountain trail was extended from Silver Lake to the Snow Park Lodge base area. New mountain equipment was purchased to enhance and maintain cut runs and to enhance the snowmaking systems mountainwide. Guests this winter season will enjoy a remodeled Silver Lake Restaurant and upgrades to the Bald Mountain Room in Silver Lake Lodge. View Improvements

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame announced, on November 5, that Edgar Stern, founder of Deer Valley Resort, had been inducted into the Hall of Fame 2015. The Hall of Fame recognizes remarkable leadership contributions in athletics and sports. Mr. Stern joins 409 honored members of this recognition, for his contribution to revolutionizing the ski industry by combining the sport aspect with the luxury aspect. The “Deer Valley Difference” continues to garner worldwide recognition and this is attributed, in great part, to Mr. Stern’s efforts. Although Mr. Stern passed away in 2008, his legacy perseveres today.

Deer Valley Resort recently announced the dates of the 24th Annual Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest, a celebration that kicks off the season. This ski event pairs former Olympic ski legends with TV and film stars for a fun weekend of skiing, poker tournaments, music, events and fundraising. On the athlete side, expect appearances from Steve & Phil Mahre, Tommy Moe and Heidi Voelker. On the star side, you might get to glimpse Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Mark Feuerstein, Rob Morrow, Maria Bello and Alicia Silverstone. Dierks Bently is scheduled to perform. This year’s event will take place on December 5-6, 2015. Funds raised will go to Waterkeeper Alliance, an organization that protects water sources worldwide. The races are free to spectators, so come out and join in the fun at the Silver Lake viewing area!

Santa Claus will visit Deer Valley on Thursday, December 24, 2015. He will make two appearances, so bring your kids to the Snow Park Lodge from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and to the  Silver Lake Lodge from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The annual Torchlight Parade will take place on Wednesday, December 30, on Big Stick run at Bald Eagle Mountain. Enjoy food, complimentary hot cider and cookies at Snow Park Lodge from 5:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., after which the downhill parade will start. View Calendar
