Backcountry Skiing
The Wasatch Mountains offer some of the finest backcountry skiing opportunities in the lower 48 states. Plentiful snowfall and excellent terrain mean that you won’t have to look very far to find endless slopes of untracked powder. The backcountry can be a dangerous place, however, and only experienced skiers with proper knowledge and skills to safely negotiate avalanche terrain should venture off the beaten path.

Cross Country Skiing
This is an excellent way to enjoy the winter and get some good exercise while you’re at it! Cross country skis are long and narrow, allowing you to glide over trails  with ease. Rentals and tours are available.

Snowmobiling
This is a great way to get out and enjoy the winter, with the added thrill of speed! Snowmobiles allow you to access a lot of terrain that would be difficult to get to on foot in the winter. Several companies offer snowmobile tours and rentals.

Snowshoeing
Want to enjoy the winter landscape with a little less excitement? Snowshoeing is the perfect choice. They can attach to any boots and allow you to tromp around in the snow without sinking in. This is great exercise and can be enjoyed by the whole family.
