Nordic Skiing Park City Utah ~ Backcountry Adventures

Backcountry Skiing
The Wasatch Mountains offer some of the finest backcountry skiing opportunities in the lower 48 states. Plentiful snowfall and excellent terrain mean that you won’t have to look very far to find endless slopes of untracked powder. The backcountry can be a dangerous place, however, and only experienced skiers with proper knowledge and skills should venture off the beaten path.

A better alternative is to hook up with a local guide service. Trained guides know exactly where to go and have many years of experience with the backcountry. The following companies lead guided tours:

  • Park City Powder Cats
    435-649-6596
  • White Pine Touring
    435-649-8710

Cross Country Skiing
Cross Country Skiing is an excellent way to enjoy the winter and exercise at the same time.  Cross country skis are long and narrow and allow you to glide over trails with ease. Rentals and tours are available through the following companies:

  • White Pine Touring
    435-649-8710
  • Norwegian School of Nature Life
    (800) 649-5322 / (435) 649-5322

Snowmobiling
This is a great way to get out and enjoy the winter, with the added thrill of speed! Snowmobiles allow you to access terrain that is difficult to navigate on foot. These companies offer snowmobile tours and rentals:

  • All Season Adventures
    435-649-9619
  • Park City Snowmobile Adventures
    435-645-7256

Snowshoeing
This is a relaxing way to enjoy the winter terrain.  They can attach snowshoes to any boots allowing you to walk around in the snow without sinking. This is great exercise and can be enjoyed by the whole family.
